Jeevan is an institute for mentally Disabled children founded by A. K. Singh 1992 at Dhanbad. Jeevan Home - Based and Community - Based Rehabilitation are primarily for children who cannot attend the school at Dhanbad due to distance, capacity constraints and other factors. As part of their HBR and CBR programs, Jeevan trains social workers (called as community Resource Workers) at the institute who then go to different village to train special children and their parents to help the disabled become self sufficient. Jeevan has established an efficient system for CBR. In its current form,. Jeevan chooses a home of a disabled child as a temporary center in each village, and the CBR trains the disabled children who assemble three.
